Turn an ontology into a knowledge graph and a topical map
Paste an ontology (from ChatGPT, Claude, InfraNodus or your own notes) and see it as an interactive, directed knowledge graph. Relations are colour-coded by type, clusters become content hubs, and a health check shows where the ontology is thin, star-shaped or disconnected.
Get an ontology into the tool
Load a ready-made ontology and explore it.
Type your topic, copy the prompt, paste it into ChatGPT or Claude, then paste the answer below.
Write one fact at a time, no special format needed.
Your ontology
How to use it
- 1
Get an ontology
Click “Copy AI prompt”, replace <YOUR TOPIC>, and run it in ChatGPT or Claude. You get statements like [[battery pack]] has a nominal [[voltage]] [hasAttribute]. Existing triples, CSV, Turtle or JSON work too.
- 2
Paste and visualise
The format is detected automatically. Arrows show direction, colours show relation type, and node size shows how central an entity is. Click a node to read everything the ontology says about it.
- 3
Check its health
A good ontology is a web, not a star. The health tab flags hub-dominated, disconnected or one-dimensional ontologies before you build content on them.
- 4
Bridge the gaps
Copy the bridge statements and ask your AI to explain those relationships. Add the answers, then visualise again. Repeat until the clusters connect.
- 5
Export the topical map
Each cluster becomes a hub page with supporting articles and internal links. Export it as CSV and use it as your content plan.
What is measured, and what is framework
Semantic SEO mixes real information-retrieval science with practitioner frameworks. Each output here is labelled so you know which one you're looking at.
[[wikilinks]] statements use InfraNodus syntax with a trailing [relationCode]. Entities in one statement are linked in order. Triples (A -> rel -> B), CSV/TSV, Turtle-lite and JSON are mapped to the same model, and predicates like rdfs:subClassOf or “contains” are normalised to isA and partOf, with direction corrected.
These use the same network analysis as the Entity Graph Mapper: Louvain communities, weighted betweenness centrality and the participation coefficient, run on the relation graph.
The rules (network not star, ≥8 uses per relation type, descriptive and functional relations both present) come from the InfraNodus ontology method. They are good practice for building ontologies, not a ranking factor.
Cluster = hub, top entity = hub page, cross-cluster edges = internal links. This is a planning heuristic. Check it against your source context and search demand (use the Content Gap Analyzer).
Questions about the Ontology Visualizer
What is an ontology in SEO?+
It's a structured list of the entities in a topic and how they relate: what is a type of what, what is part of what, what causes what. It is the skeleton of a topical map. Once the relationships are clear, it's obvious which pages to write and how to link them.
Which formats can I paste?+
InfraNodus [[wikilinks]] statements with [relationCode], arrow triples (A -> relation -> B or A --relation--> B), CSV/TSV/pipe tables with subject, predicate and object, simple Turtle (ex:A rdfs:subClassOf ex:B .), and JSON arrays or {edges: [...]} objects.
How do I generate an ontology with AI?+
Click “Copy AI prompt to generate one”, replace <YOUR TOPIC>, and paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. The prompt asks for the exact format this tool reads, with balanced relation types and a network rather than a tree.
How is this different from InfraNodus?+
InfraNodus is a full platform with AI gap analysis and saved graphs. This is a free, instant, private visualizer that also turns the graph into an SEO topical map and checks the ontology's quality. It reads the same [[wikilinks]] format, so you can use both.
Is my ontology uploaded?+
No. Parsing, layout and analysis all run in your browser.
Content Gap Analyzer
Validate the topical map against what ranks and what people search, then turn each hub into a content brief.
